Hey everyone! The River Rapids ride that you can normally build in Rollercoaster Tycoon has a very narrow track, and can only do tight turns.. The track is way too limited to be able to make a nice and sort of realistic looking River Rapids ride!
That's why most people who make sandbox parks don't use the in-game River Rapids track, but instead opt to build an invisible track instead! That way it is possible to add large curves, S-bends and diagonal track to the ride! The ground under the invisible track is then replaced with water, and a monorail track is placed next to the track on both sides to act as the barrier between the water and the land. Drops are usually made to look nice by copying and pasting a Splash boats drop over the invisible track.
Building a River Rapids ride this way can be very time-consuming. Quite a lot of landscaping will have to be done, but the end result will usually look much nicer than a normal vanilla River Rapids track could look!
