Side-Friction Coaster Contest
Side friction coasters are some of the oldest coasters around, and there's only a few still in operation! The side friction coaster in RCT2 appears to be based on coasters like Leap the Dips in Lakemont Park! What is special about side friction coasters is that they don't have any upstop wheels, it's simply gravity which keeps them on the rails... That's why you should make sure they don't have any large negative G-forces that can throw them off the track! Real side-friction coasters typically have simple layouts, with gentle dips and several tracks stacked above each other. At the bottom of this page I provide a layout that you can use or take inspiration from!
Rule 1: You have to make a side-friction coaster! The coaster must use Side-Friction Coaster track (but you are allowed to splice in short sections of other track).
Rule 2: You must use the Wooden Side-Friction Coaster cars! You can either use single vehicles or a train of more vehicles! You cannot use the Reverser coaster vehicles, as we will do those in a separate contest!
Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on the 27th of August at 19:00 CEST!
Rule 4: For this contest, you are NOT allowed to use custom scenery or rides in your park, also NOT the recolorable custom objects from the DKSO bench! You are allowed to use a custom palette if you want! (This rule will stay in place until we have a new workbench without object conflicts)
Rule 5: The maximum map size for this round is 1600 tiles. This number will be calculated by multiplying the size of the map edges. You could for example make a map that is 40 x 40 tiles, or 25 x 64 tiles.
Rule 6: There is no limit to the amount of opened rides you can have in the park.
Rule 7: Have fun!
