The park is based upon illustrations from the
34th book (and also the 25th book) of The
Railway Series. Toward the end of the 34th
book, two engines pull a train consisting of
both covered and uncovered passenger carriages.

Conveniently, the yellow engine in the 34th
book and the RCT steam engine are both based
on Northern Rock, a miniature steam engine
from the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
